About

When my little brother & his gorgeous fiancé (now wife!) called to ask if I could help them with a 'little job' on their wedding day, I never imagined they'd ask me to be their marriage celebrant! (especially considering I wasn’t qualified!) So after doing some research, enrolling in the course & studying for 12 months, I surprised everyone on the day & married them!

Since then, I have literally fallen in love (pardon the pun!) with marrying couples & find it an absolute honour & privilege to be by couples’ sides every step of the way ensuring their wedding day is everything they dreamed of & more!

No matter where, when, or how you choose to tie the knot, I’ll bring a unique energy to your day, guide you through every step, and make sure you feel completely comfortable, confident, and truly represented! I’ll pour genuine care and enthusiasm into your ceremony so that you and your guests remember it for all the right reasons!

Let’s meet each other!

It’s super important to ensure we vibe so let’s catch up for a coffee or wine (as I’m not actually a coffee drinker!) & chat about your wedding plans!

Planning begins!

This is where I’ll get you to complete some legal paperwork (which is pretty important!) & I’ll ask you to provide some information which I’ll use to create your bespoke ceremony!

Time to write!

This is where I get to spend time creating your bespoke ceremony – one filled with lots of love & laughter (& no boring bits!)

Final briefing!

Everything’s ready so let’s finalise the ceremony & discuss our game plan for your wedding day! We can chat about all things logistics ensuring no unnecessary nerves on the day!

FAQ's

Do you travel within Victoria or possibly interstate?

Absolutely! Travelling & exploring new places is one of my most favourite things to do! I’m based in Melbourne & have family in Gippsland so I can easily travel to many venues for little to no extra cost. In terms of travelling interstate, the key is booking early! This will allow me to secure cheap flights & accommodation meaning the added cost to you will be minimal!  

For sure! Writing vows can be a daunting task (everyone wants to get these words perfect, right?) but it doesn’t have to be stressful! I can provide you with some resources including examples to draw inspiration from & I’d be more than happy to sit down with you both, if you preferred a more hands on approach! The key here is to keep it simple & speak from the heart! 

There’s only one Nicola Ormerod! (Thankfully!) In all seriousness, your wedding day is all about you two & celebrating your magical love – any way you like! I’ll bring a fun & relaxed approach to everything leading up to the ceremony (yes, all of the boring legal stuff!) & on the day, bring a lightness & bubbly energy that will see you both feel relaxed & safe which will set the tone for your night! Your guests will remember your wedding for all the right reasons!  
Although weddings should be about being married, we know most people are just looking forward to the party. We were very open with Nicola around wanting a short and sweet ceremony and she did an incredible job of making it feel contained but with enough depth to still have it feel special and intimate.
